A trigger is a condition that evaluates to either true or false at runtime. It does this by comparing the value in a variable with the value that you specified when you defined the trigger.

When installing Divvit's script, there's two triggers that you have to use.

The first trigger is for the General Tracking Pixel. For this one, you can use the built in trigger called "All pages".

The second trigger you have to use, is for the Order Tracking Pixel.

This trigger is not built in, so you will have to it manually.

  1. Log on to your Google Tag Manager account and click on Triggers on the left side menu
  2. Click new, and name your trigger "Complete page trigger"
  3. Click on the icon in the middle and choose Page View as Trigger type.
  4. Now you have two checkboxes, one saying All Page Views and the other one Some Page Views, choose Some Page Views.
  5. By default, you will have Page Hostname, change that to Page URL, leave contains as it is
  6. In the blank field, you have to enter your complete page url, or a part of it, for example /purchase/complete, hit save in the top left corner!

Now we have set up a trigger, that you can use when implementing a script. The Complete page trigger will make sure the Order Tracking pixel only fires at the page where your customers end up after purchasing. Please note: /purchase/complete might be different from site to site. Please make a test purchase on your own site, and save the URL you end up at when it's done. Copy the part after your regular URL, so leave out https://www.yoursite.com/ and take everything after that. So for example: https://www.yoursite.com/purchase/complete becomes /purchase/complete, and enter that value in to Google Tag Manager.
